GU14 v Oxford Hawkes

Fortunately the rain subsided and the girls stepped up to play their game. Unfortunately Hawkes turned up with no goalie so were playing with 11 outfield players and the girls just seemed to be surrounded by maroon at all times. Missing some of our key players we just couldn’t find the breaks we needed to capitalise on the open goal at the other end of the pitch. With Lucy, Zoe and Lizzie regularly finding themselves in the D facing 7 Hawkes attackers it was amazing that we only conceded 4 goals. This was a testament to the sheer determination of our defence and some fantastic saves by Lucy. Every single girl played their heart out and when we did have a break we just needed a little luck but it was not to be today. Thanks to Colin Peacock and Julia Sharpe for umpiring and well done to all the girls, you are all awesome. Final Score 0-4. MoM - Ava
