Thame v Oxford Hawks B GU16

Thame won the pushback and never looked back in the first half. With the girls constantly working around the D after ten minutes we were awarded a short corner. The girls took their positions and produced a textbook short corner with Amy firing the ball into the goal. The team then remained in charge with Hawks struggling to get the ball into their half of the pitch. The Thame teamwork was fantastic with the passes finding Thame stick after Thame stick, with every single member of the team playing their part. It was not long then before we were hearing the sound of the ball hitting the back of the goal. Thame had dummied round the keeper and Esme (who says she is not a forward!!) slotted the ball in. The game restarted and our eyes were drawn instantly back to the Hawks goal with quick passes down the field Bel got the ball and with a perfect finish she scored, we were now 3-0 up. Play calmed down however Thame were still in charge and just before the half time whistle we were applying maximum pressure to the Hawks defence, with the ball coming to Rowan and in it went 4-0! After half time Thame still had the upper hand however Hawks were fighting back. With a few tense moments and three short corners in a row against us, we hung on to our clean sheet. Final score, 4-0 to Thame. Every single Thame player was amazing and instrumental in the game which was so fantastic to watch. MOM was Esme for her outstanding performance throughout the game and a special mention to Bekah, Thame's GU12 goalie, who although did not have much to do in the first half did some fantastic saves in the second half to keep Hawks from scoring.
