The Ladies 1s recorded an emphatic 7-0 home win over Windsor 1s, climbing to sixth in the table. Thame made a fast start, with I. Harding converting a short corner in the opening minutes before the midfield's high tempo created further turnovers. B. Lambourne scored twice alongside strikes from C. Sharpe and M. Ainsworth to give Thame a commanding 5-0 half-time lead. Windsor applied pressure early in the second half, but goalkeeper C. McDermott stood firm with a succession of saves from short corners. C. Sharpe converted a stroke before B. Lambourne completed her hat-trick with an excellent individual effort.
The Ladies 2s climbed to the top of the table with a convincing 6-1 win over Marlow 4s. After a competitive first half ended 1-1, Thame took control after the break with excellent passing, teamwork and contributions from the junior players. C. Harris scored twice to become the league's leading goalscorer, while M. Foster also bagged a brace. R. Ledesma and S. Appleby completed the scoring as the 2s produced a dominant second-half display.
The Ladies 3s slipped to fourth after a narrow 3-2 defeat away to unbeaten Kidlington 1s. H. Gresty-Evans scored for Thame as the team battled hard against the league's leading side, matching their intensity and putting two goals past the hosts. The 3s felt their performance merited a draw, but Kidlington took advantage of a green card to secure a late winner.
The Ladies 4s fell to a 4-0 defeat against Enigma 1s.
Men's Results
The Men's 1s claimed a huge 4-3 home win over previously unbeaten Reading 4s, moving up to fourth in the table. B. Caiger struck twice, including a superb finish after bringing down a D. Williams aerial, rounding the goalkeeper and slotting home. A. Lawrenson also bagged a brace as Thame responded brilliantly to two early second-half goals and held on despite three green cards. L. Yeung provided a key contribution to the third goal with a perfectly executed nutmeg on the edge of his own D before a 50-yard run upfield, while T. Collins earned a joint-MOTM performance after taking a short corner full in the face (a lesson to all to wear facemasks) and getting straight back into the action.
The Men's 2s produced a six-goal away performance to beat Yateley 3s 6-1, climbing to fifth in the table. After taking an early lead and seeing Yateley equalise, Thame kept their composure and moved the ball brilliantly to score five unanswered goals. N. Jones led the way with a superb hat-trick, while S. Chignall added two and B. Rudolph scored his first senior goal with excellent composure, earning Man of the Match. T. Creswell also claimed a questionable three assists, by his own methodology, while O. Poynter-Smith earned a light-hearted 'Silly Sausage' shoutout after drenching his match teas in his J20, despite another strong performance in defence.
The Men's 3s earned an impressive 4-1 away win over Oxford 6s, moving up to fifth in the table. Goals from H. McEwen, M. Dale, H. Subesinghe and J. Rose capped a performance built on outstanding work rate and strong contributions throughout the side. J. Lamborn never stopped running, H. Winnicott continued to develop his defensive game, and C. Cojeen impressed in midfield with his running and skill. S. Watts also showed the value of an attacking full-back, while H. Subesinghe made an excellent first appearance for the 3s, scoring once, providing three assists and causing problems for the opposition throughout.
The Men's 4s lost 3-0 against a strong junior opposition, leaving them ninth in the table. The visitors' fitness and ability to keep running eventually wore down Thame's defence, but there were encouraging performances from the junior players, who rose to the challenge and rotated through unfamiliar positions to build their confidence. B. Williams also made his first appearance for the 4s, while D. Ashby stood out with an excellent all-round display.
