Thame L1s hit the road and bagged all the points!

Summary of Thame L1s vs Slough L2 hockey match
We hit the road for the first time this season and were looking for our first win. Buddha asked that we start fast and we did just that, starting fast and on the front foot, controlling possession and moving it well around the pitch. We were awarded three short corners, in quick consession, within the first 5 minutes and eventually converted on the 3rd attempt! Charli (not giving up unlike Captain Chopper!) passing to Mia who was on the back post, to tap it in! ?
Slough came back into the game, but we stood firm and went into half time 1-0 up.
We started the second half brightly, and doubled our lead, again within 5 mins of the restart. Tamsin's through ball was perfectly weighted and Chopper finished well with a powerful strike from the edge of the D. Slough managed to get one goal back with under 10 minutes to go, but we held on for a 2-1 victory.
Despite losing players to injuries and sickness during the week, we all put in a strong performance to earn our first win of the season.

**Analysis:**
Thame's good start to the match was crucial in setting the tone for the rest of the game. They were able to convert their early pressure into a goal, which gave them a good platform to build on.
Thame's defence was also solid throughout the match, with Bekah producing some vital saves. They were able to keep Slough at bay in the first half and restrict them to a few chances.
Thame's second goal in the second half was a well-worked move. The 5 in midfield, not giving Slough anytime on the ball and constantly hassling them, Tamsin in particular running and running and never giving up.
Slough got one goal back late in the game, but Thame were able to hold on for their first win of the season.
Overall, it was a good performance from Thame, espcially overcoming players pulling out to injuries and sickness, to earn a valuable three points.
