Arrr, gather 'round ye scallywags, and hear this tale of might,
Where Thame and Slough did clash today, upon the pitch so bright.
The sun shone bright, the pitch was wet, the ball did fly so fast,
But Slough, the crew with sharper swords, struck first and struck too fast!
They fired six cannonballs so true, their aim could not be beat,
But Thame, they fought with heart and grit, refusing to retreat.
Three goals they scored, with pride and skill, but Slough had seized the day,
Still, Thame’s crew sailed with heads held high, though fortune went astray.
Now, of young Tom D, I must declare, his keeper’s gloves shone bright,
On his debut men's hockey voyage, he stood firm in the fight.
With saves aplenty, fierce and bold, he battled Slough’s wild tide,
A fine lad's first, and brave it was, defending with such pride.
Yet woe befell poor Tom C’s sail, two cards he did receive,
And then his hamstring gave a snap, his crew could only grieve.
For DOD, he took the crown, though his heart was filled with strife,
A tough day at the helm for him, in this seafaring life.
As for Jonny A and Cam S, their praises fill the air,
For playmaking with calm and grace, their minds sharp and fair.
Though the battle’s lost this time, their composure led the crew,
Next time they sail these waters fierce, they'll come back strong and true!
