Impressive wins from Thame U12s teams with Thame B winning their group and Thame A finishing third in theirs.

In our second tournament of the season, we entered two U12 teams of equal ability. The tournament consisted of 4 groups of 5/6 teams in each with our two teams being fielded in groups 3 and 4. As ever, the competition was tough with the familiar opponents of Bicester, Oxford and Hawks all present.

Thame A
What a great performance and what a great day for the team! Our best performance to date with two losses a draw and two very well deserved wins. The losses were narrow losses too and the result could have gone either way - and to score 5 goals in our last game was just brilliant. I do not want to single out any individual player as this was a real team effort and working as a team is what paid off on the day. We really kept our shape throughout and the commitment shown by every single player makes me very proud! - Steve

Thame B
Thame B's opening game was against Bicester and we got off to a great start by winnning 3-0. The second game, against Hawks(C) looked as though it would be easier as they didn't field a goalkeeper. However, we didn't account for their great defense and the game proved harder than we expected. Thanks to solid defending and tireless attacking, we finally broke the dead-lock and won the game 1-0. We faced Hawks(G) in our third game, who again proved difficult to break down, but we managed to win the game 1-0.
Everything rested on our final game, against Oxford. It was a crunch game - victory would win us the group, losing would give Oxford the group title! We fielded a more defensive team, our wingers playing deeper than. Oxford came out attacking testing our defense and goalkeeper, who had to make a couple of important saves. The strategy paid off half way through with a goal, quickly followed by a second to end the game 2-0 to Thame.

With four wins out of four, we won our group!

The team all played extremely well, successfully transferring tactics and strategies learnt at training on Saturday mornings to match situations. Special mention has to go to Oliver Rouse-Roberts who gave us a great attacking advantage and scored all 8 or our goals! But the fact we also kept a clean sheet is testament to defensive strengths and organisation of the team who should all be extremely proud of their fantastic performance! - Justin

Well done to everyone who played, see you back in training after half term - have a well earned rest!
