Men’s 3rds registered their first loss of the season, going down 2-1 to Sonning in our first proper test of the season.
The first half saw beautiful hockey from everyone in the team. What was really impressive was the fact the juniors stepped up to the plate against an all adult opposition.
Sonning took the lead from a short corner, initial save made went straight back to them and they converted.
We bounced back very quickly, moving the ball from the back, all the way through the middle, ending with a superb goal from Robbie.
The start of the second half saw Sonning press, keeping us on the back foot. That pressure took its toll as they worked the ball around the D and scored.
We tried our hardest to get an equaliser, having many chances in front of the goal but just couldn’t covert them.
Really pleased with the team so far this season, we’ll get back to winning ways next week.
