The Mens 4s picked up where they finished of last season with a dominant display against Leighton Buzzard. Debuts in M4 for Barney, who was excellent in goal, Louie and Sam who both showed great potential with a good skill set and excellent work rate throughout the game. The blend of youth and experience worked well in keeping the shape of the team particularly in the first half which we finished with a 3 - 0 lead. Excellent work rate from Michael A , Peter and Will B playing up front throughout the game kept the opposition under constant pressure making it very difficult for them to build any attacks from the back. The midfield general Justin ably assisted by Edwin and Zac broke up play and created numerous counter attacks. It was good to have Brad in the centre of our defence with his siege gun hits from defence creating numerous chances within a fraction of a second. Max W was excellent in defence but also offered another attacking option with his rampaging runs from the back. Richard B was excellent anchoring the midfield, encouraging the youngsters and keeping the team working hard.
The second half was less dominant as fatigue set in and we lost our positional discipline however it was an excellent performance and sets us up for a competitive season. Hopefully we will have a few more bodies returning and we can continue to build throughout the season. Well done and look forward to next week
